“it all comes back to that first lesson in the mud: hard jobs matter. The people doing them deserve tools they can trust. And when the storm comes—whether on a jobsite, a ranch, or in a campsite under the stars—Solaris is there to keep the lights on and the powertools running.”

Chad Cushman’s first job wasn’t in an office or on a construction site—it was digging an eight-foot grave for a family’s blind pony. In the freezing rain, knee-deep in mud, he learned the kind of grit, humility, and respect for hard work that would define his path forward. That day taught him that every job has value, no matter how tough, and that real responsibility means stepping up when others can’t.

From a young age, Chad worked in and around construction, guided by his father’s lessons about respect, and perseverance. At 18, he dove headfirst into heavy machinery, asking ranchers and farmers to let him work for free just to gain experience. Those early years weren’t glamorous—but they gave him the foundation to build both skill and character.

As his construction career grew, Chad noticed a recurring problem: powering projects was expensive, noisy, and disruptive. Crews had to waste time refueling gas generators, the fuel itself added costs, and neighbors were constantly frustrated by the noise. On the flip side, while camping in beautiful locations, the rumble of a generator ruined the peace. There had to be a better way.

So he built one.

Drawing from his background in mechanics and motorsports, he designed his first solar generator—starting with the wheels from his son’s old motorcycle. What began as a resourceful solution for one client soon became something much bigger: Solaris.

Today, Solaris builds rugged, quiet, and reliable solar generators designed for people who work and live life on the frontiers—builders, firefighters, ranchers, farmers, campers, and humanitarian crews. Unlike mass-market gadgets, Solaris units are built for real-world conditions: high winds, heavy rain, remote locations, and long days where dependable power isn’t optional. On the job site, they cut costs by eliminating fuel runs and downtime. Out in nature, they provide power without shattering the silence.

Solaris is more than technology—it’s a philosophy.

  • Resourcefulness: Using what’s available and making it count.

  • Respect for Nature: Eliminating noise, fumes, and fire danger.

  • Rugged Performance: Built tough enough for extreme job sites and remote adventures.

  • High-Class Reliability: Power that performs cleanly and quietly, wherever it’s needed most.

For us, it all comes back to that first lesson in the mud: hard jobs matter. The people doing them deserve tools they can trust. And when the storm comes—whether on a jobsite, a ranch, or in a campsite under the stars—Solaris is there to keep the lights on.
